Privacy Policy

This policy explains, in plain English, what the Travel Currency Rates mobile app does and does not do with information about you. The short version: not much.

1. Who we are

The app is published by Petr Nejedlý, a sole trader registered in the Czech Republic, with registered address Sokolská 234, Velké Popovice and company identification number (IČO) 88085562 ("we", "us"). You can reach us at support@travelcurrencyrates.com.

2. Information we do not collect

• We do not require you to create an account.
• We do not collect your name, email, or phone number unless you contact support.
• We do not include third-party advertising SDKs.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with data brokers.

3. Information processed on your device

Your conversions, the currencies you pin, and your interface preferences are stored locally on your device using standard mobile storage (iOS / Android). They do not leave your phone.

Location (optional)

If you grant location permission, the app uses your approximate location only to suggest a sensible default currency when you arrive somewhere new (for example, suggesting IDR when you land in Indonesia). Your location is processed on-device and is never sent to our servers or any third party. You can decline the permission or turn it off later in your operating system settings — the app continues to work fully without it.

Language and locale

The app reads your device's language and regional settings to display translated text and format numbers in the way your country writes them. This information stays on the device.

4. Exchange rate data

To show conversions, the app downloads exchange rates from a reputable third-party exchange-rate provider (currently {{RATE_PROVIDER}}). When the app requests rates, the provider may receive standard technical information such as your IP address and the type of request, as part of normal internet traffic. We do not send your location, your conversions, or any account identifier with these requests.

Rates are then cached on your device so the app continues to work offline. Each conversion screen shows when the rates were last updated, so you can judge whether the cached numbers are still fresh enough for what you are doing.

5. Diagnostics and crash reporting

To keep the app reliable, we may collect anonymous, aggregated diagnostic and crash information through Apple's and Google's standard developer tools, but only if you have enabled the system-level setting that allows this on your device. These reports do not contain personal information and are used solely to diagnose bugs and improve stability.

6. Purchases

Purchases of the app, or any in-app purchase, are processed by Apple (App Store) and Google (Play Store). Their privacy policies and receipts apply. We do not see, store, or process your payment card details.

7. Children

The app is rated 4+ and is suitable for general audiences, but it is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your rights

Because the app is designed to keep your information on your device, the most direct way to delete what the app stores about you is to delete the app from your phone. If you have contacted support and want us to delete the corresponding email correspondence, write to support@travelcurrencyrates.com.

Depending on where you live (for example, in the EU, the UK, California, or other jurisdictions with similar laws), you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. We are happy to help — please contact us.

9. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy in any meaningful way, we will update the date at the top of this page. For substantive changes we will also surface a notice in the app.
